!!! Jai Jawan Jai Kisan !!!

Jai Jawan Jai Kisan - Who gave this popular slogan to India ? ....The moment this question strikes the ear drum the tongue rotates and the answer is Lal Bahadur Shastri...But friends do we remember birthday of this great social reformer, freedom fighter , writer and second prime minister of India.
Indian goverement has deliberately neglected the giant leader and Shastri Saga, so is the generation after generation following.
!!! Let me give u a brief history of this eminent leader !!!
Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2,1904, India’s second Prime Minister and a man with strong detirmination. Though born in a deprived family he rose to political eminence purely on the strength of moral principles.
Jai Jawan Jai Kisan was a slogan given by Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965. It means hail the soldier and hail the farmer. Soon after Shastri took over the prime minister ship of India after Nehru's death India was attacked by Pakistan . We were in drought like situation ....there was scarcity of food grains in country. Shastri gave the slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan to excite the soldiers to defend India and simultaneously cheered the farmers to do their best to increase the production of food grains to reduce dependence on import .
Other famous quotes :
"If one person gives up one meal in a day, some other person gets his only meal of the day", spoken during the food crisis to encourage people to evenly distribute food.
"Perhaps due to my being small in size and soft of tongue, people are apt to believe that I am not able to be very firm. Though not physically strong, I think I am internally not so weak."
Some great statement given by Shastri Jee.
The Indo-Pak war ended on 23 September 1965 with a United Nation-mandated ceasefire. In a broadcast to the nation on the day the of ceasefire, Shastri stated:

While the conflict between the armed forces of the two countries has come to an end, the more important thing for the United Nations and all those who stand for peace is to bring to an end the deeper conflict... How can this be brought about? In our view, the only answer lies in peaceful coexistence. India has stood for the principle of coexistence and championed it all over the world. Peaceful coexistence is possible among nations no matter how deep the differences between them, how far apart they are in their political and economic systems, no matter how intense the issues that divide them.
Today in 2009 the sacrifice given by this great leader has been completed ignored by most of us.
Most surprising thing is that ....i tried to google on Lal Bhadur Shastri and results of the search astonished me.There were number of sites and blogs dedicated towards the steply behavior of Indian Goverment towards Shastri Jee.
Through my blog I would request to all my fellow country men to pay equal homeage to all fredom fighter. We should not be biased towards the leaders for whom Goverment has given holidays.
One more important note before logging out : Birthday of Bhagat Singh !!

Love and Life

Once upon a time, there was a lonely baby boy sitting in the park, crying ever so badly:
A philosopher came by, and asked caringly:

The baby boy said:

Then the baby boy
showed the philosopher a picture of his cute little girlfriend:
After looking at the picture, the philosopher laughed so loudly and said,
"You are
so dumb!"
And the
baby boy went absolutely crazy:

Then, the philosopher said wisely:

Instantly, the baby boy felt better:
If you look at what you do not have in life, you don't have anything,
If you look at what you have in life, you have everything.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, But by the moments that take our breath away..

Dell to buy Perot Systems for $3.9 bn

SAN FRANCISCO, USA: Computer maker Dell is to buy technology services company Perot Systems for $3.9 billion in a bid to gain a foothold in the lucrative sector of information technology consulting, the company announced Monday.

The bid price of $30 a share represented a 68-per cent premium on the share price of the company founded in 1988 by former independent presidential candidate Ross Perot.

The Plano, Texas-based company provides consulting and technology services to more than 1,000 enterprises, with some 50 percent of its revenues derived from the health care industry and another 25 percent from the government. Analysts said the company's business could get a huge boost if proposals for health care reform are passed into law.

In a conference Dell founder Michael Dell said Perot would remain in Plano and that it hoped to hold on to the company's management as it seeks to make Perot the "anchor" of Dell global IT services business.

This would help Dell, currently the world's number two computer maker behind Hewlett Packard, smooth out inconsistent revenue from hardware sales with the more lucrative and steady consulting income that helps it competitors like HP and IBM.

"We will leverage Perot's services capability across Dell's customer base," said Dell. "This acquisition makes great sense."

Xerox to acquire ACS

NEW YORK:Xerox Corporation, a provider in document management services recently announced that it would acquire outsourcing entity Affiliated Computer Services for about $6.4 billion in a cash and stock deal

Both companies have entered into a definitive agreement in this regard and Xerox would be shelling out $ 63.11 per share for ACS.

With ACS, the copier giant would now expand into services such as collecting tolls and installing computer systems in government agencies, says media reports.

As per the agreement, ACS shareholders would receive a total of $18.60 per share in cash plus 4.935 Xerox shares for each ACS share they own.

Ursula Burns, Xerox chief executive, said in a statement that Xerox would become a $22 billion company, with $17 billion of that coming in the form of recurring revenues. Cerberus Capital Management tried to buy ACS two years ago for $6.2 billion, or $62 a share, but the private equity firm later withdrew the bid, which ACS rejected as too low. But those were the days before the big recession, and shareholders are likely to be quite happy with the deal, which provides $18.60 a share in cash and 4.935 Xerox shares for every ACS share. Xerox also assumes ACS' $2 billion in debt."

"With the economy kicking back in 2010 the timing is just right for Xerox to integrate ACS. Market dynamics might favor the integration process, and possibly accelerate it as well. Xerox will now combine the ACS's business of providing services to automate paper-based work processes with its own document management offerings, " Chandramouli, director-advisory Services, Zinnov Management Consulting.

He added that based on company information, the deal for Dallas-based ACS is expected to triple Xerox's services revenue to an estimated $10 billion next year from 2008's $3.5 billion. This is also going to be the sweet spot for exploiting synergies between these two companies.

9 days of Navratri

Navratri - the moment my brain think of this word it picks few more more words which are deepely associated directly or indirectly with it like Navdurga , Garba , Vaishnav Devi , Mela , Long vacataion , Crowd , long queues , Fasting .... and many more list is so long that i can not key in every word and why not the list should be endless because i had been celebrating these 9 days since my childhood.
I do remember when i was kid around 6 or 7 yrs in age my parents use to take me and my siblings to show Pandal and after that we use hover accross different shops in Mela.
I use to eagerly wait for these days....i would cherish these days throughout my life.
In Mela we use to have road side food , enjoy rides , watch magic shows and circus ....play games , balloon shoooting the list is endless. The enjoyment bonanza doesnot ends here ....After Navratri ...Dussherha.... when we use to see RAVANA mascot being set to ablaze by Lord RAMA .As the pendulam of the clock swinged time passed and today
After 25 years..........
The whole world looks different. When i compare with the my childhood i feel my life has been shattered.Today the 9 days has got completely different meaning.
Dont go out may be you can get swine flu ....dont eat road side food you may fall sick as it is not hygenic .....Police Bandobast is so huge that you may feel some crime has occured at the Pandal or near the temple. I feel every good thing has become insecure today.
I to have changed intially i use to flit around different shops in Mela to have food but nowadays i keep Fast.Instead of eating road side food with my friends I take Fruits .....thanks to 9 days ...usually i dont eat fruits :)
Today is 9th day of 2009 Navratri puja.
After offering prayer to Maa Durga I broke my fast today and then went to Kali Temple for prayer and had bhog......
Sometime i feel why did i grow up i would loved to be kid whole life.
But the same time when my mind memorize one popular proverb ......Change is Constant ..I get dejected.
Waiting for tomorrow to enjoy Dussehra.....:) :) :)
